On Thursday, August 15, the international children’s chess festival Rudaga – Kaissa was held in the resort city of Jūrmala. As part of the festival, the public organization Dice Chess, in collaboration with the organizers of the Rudaga – Kaissa festival, also held a chess tournament with dice.
Despite the tournament being held on a Thursday evening, this did not stop participants from attending, enjoying the game, and showcasing their Dice Chess skills in the battle for prizes. A total of 26 players participated in the tournament, including one player from the USA.
The competition for the prize spots was so intense that the winner was only determined after the final round. All players had to split points, which meant the final placements were decided by additional tiebreakers. This time, Dice Chess professional Kristaps Tenis had the best tiebreak scores.
List of winners:
1st place – Kristaps Tenis (9 points)
2nd place – Larisa Gordievich (9 points)
3rd place – Stefanija Dombrovska (8 points)
