Dice Chess Tournament at Rilton Cup 2025

On January 1, 2025, the Dice Chess Rilton Cup took place in Stockholm as part of one of the oldest and most prestigious chess tournaments, the Rilton Cup. This event attracted great interest and gathered 58 participants from 15 countries, including 19 titled chess players, among them 5 grandmasters:

– Bassem Amin (Egypt)
– Toms Kantans (Latvia)
– Bartlomiej Heberla (Poland)
– Swayams Mishra (India)
– Leon Livaic (Croatia)

In addition to titled players, well-known chess streamers also participated in the tournament:
– Toms Kantans (twitch.tv/gm_toms)
– Anna Kantane (twitch.tv/kantannachess)

The Dice Chess format added an element of randomness to traditional chess battles, making the chess festival even more spectacular and unique. Participants tested their chess skills and demonstrated the ability to adapt to unexpected situations.

The tournament winner was Abdel Rahman Alhadidi from Jordan, who learned the rules of Dice Chess just two days before the tournament and, despite having no prior experience, managed to defeat even grandmasters! This incredible achievement once again proved that in Dice Chess, anyone has a chance to win, regardless of their previous chess experience.

The tournament’s prize fund was 1000 euros, and the prize competition lasted until the last round. Every participant fought for victory, and the festival atmosphere was filled with excitement.

This chess festival became essential in promoting Dice Chess on the international stage.
