On March 11, a Dice Chess masterclass was held at Riga Secondary School No. 22 as part of the Chesston chess camp ♟️🎲
The event brought together 19 children, as well as the camp’s coaches. Participants were introduced to the rules of Dice Chess — a chess variant that adds an element of randomness to the classical game using dice, making the games more dynamic and exciting.
After a short explanation of the rules and a demonstration, the children had the opportunity to try Dice Chess in practice. The main part of the masterclass was a team Dice Chess relay. All participants were divided into four teams, which competed against each other in a fast-paced and fun team format. This format helped the children not only better understand the game but also develop teamwork, strategic thinking, and quick decision-making skills.
🏆 Final results:
- 🥇 1st place — Zīlītes
- 🥈 2nd place — 6-7
- 🥉 3rd place — KaļinaMaļina
- 4️⃣ Šahatoniņš
The masterclass took place in a very positive and energetic atmosphere. The children quickly learned the rules, actively supported their teams, and participated in the games with great enthusiasm.
Such events help introduce young chess players to new formats of the game, make chess even more engaging, and encourage interest in intellectual sports.
We would like to thank all participants and the Chesston coaches for the great atmosphere and active involvement. We look forward to new meetings and future Dice Chess tournaments! ♟️🎲
